Hi! I’m carla gabris.
Therapy is a sacred space between all participants and it requires bravery, trust, vulnerability, and honesty in order to be most effective. I offer personalized treatment plans for my clients, creating a comfortable and safe environment. Together, we’ll create a “safe space,” where the client and I have a productive, open dialogue. I enable clients to identify their internal strengths, allowing them to move through life’s current stressors. It is a privilege to be part of anyone’s therapeutic experience, and I strive to treat every client non-judgmentally as they pursue mental health and wellness on their journey.
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development from Cornell University and a Clinical Psychology doctorate from Suffolk University in Boston, MA. Over the past 15+ years, I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of mental health settings and levels of care. My professional training includes research on depression conducted at Weill Cornell Medical College as well as clinical work in juvenile court settings, foster care settings, inpatient and ambulatory care medical settings, group homes, and a Veterans Administration Hospital. In my private practice, I focus on treating individuals who present with anxiety and adjustment challenges, as well as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD.
My Approach
I do not use a “one-size-fits-all” approach with my clients. Instead, I customize individual treatment plans according to my client's unique needs and/or goals. I am a proponent of Positive Psychology, meaning that I focus not just on problems but on helping clients reach their potential and live their lives to the fullest. I view the psychotherapy experience as a partnership in which individuals allow a therapist to come alongside their journey, often at the most difficult or trying times in their lives.. If I am invited into a client’s life, my goal is to empower them to meet their personal goals and create the life they desire.
